Pregnancy | 37 weeks

Aerial bump shot | Daddy & Bradley having bump cuddles

How far along?
I was 37 weeks this week.

Size of baby?

Bump measured 38 weeks at 37+3.

Any news this week?
Midwife came to our house this week to do a mini antenatal and go through the stages of labour and my birth plan. I think my birth plan is pretty much sorted now, I'll write it up within the next few days and pop it in my notes. He was 1/5 engaged this week, but I'm pretty sure he pops in and out so I won't be surprised if he's free again by next week :).

Clothes?
It's soooo hard to dress in this weather. If I'm at home with no plans to go out, I'll wear some PJ shorts and probably an oversized AllSaints top. Any other time I'll wear my New Look Maternity Leggings (£14.99 x2) and I have the choice of 3 maternity vests/tops from Beebies Baby Store. Thats pretty much all that fits nowadays. Theres no point in me buying anything else with only a few weeks left. I am struggling in this heat though! It's so frustrating that I can't just pop on a pretty summer dress when it gets too hot.

Products?
I'm still moisturising my bump daily with Palmer's Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks (£2.10) although it's pretty much empty now. And I'm moisturising all over with Sanctuary Spa Mum To Be Collagen Boosting Body Butter (£10.25**).

Symptoms:
Tired. Heavy. Quite hormonal. Hot. A few days I've been feeling some contraction like pains that are really quite painful but they're nothing regular. Last weekend my Mum had a BBQ to celebrate her 50th birthday, I'd been sat in a garden chair, on and off, for about 4 hours and by the time we left I'd started to get really bad pains that continued to get stronger and stronger for a few hours once I'd got home. I started to panic as James had been drinking so couldn't drive, and obviously my Mum had had too much to drink so couldn't look after Bradley if I needed to go in. Luckily they died down by the time I went to sleep! I've now banned James from alcohol until he's here :).

Sleep:
Sleep has been hard in this weather. I'm usually on top of the covers in my underwear with the tower fan on next to me. My visits to the toilet are definitely getting more regular.

Missing anything?
Milkshakes!! I'm desperate for a thick shake from McDonalds or for a huge Tinseltown shake!! :)

Movement:
I feel him moving a lot, especially when Daddy is talking to him. :)

Any purchases?:
A few random pieces, we nipped into Mothercare and bought the Patchwork Garden Mobile (£24.99) for his cot. I'd have got a blue one to match everything else but James insisted on a bit of colour, so it doesn't match his cot bedding which is giving me a bit of OCD, haha! We got some Pop Up Cat Sunshades (£5.99) for the car. We also picked up some cute blue and white socks which I can't find online and I also gave Bradley the job to go round the store and choose some socks for him too, he chose these colourful Socks (£5.00). It's important for Bradley to feel involved. I also bought bits for Bradley's 'Big Brother' present from his baby brother, but I plan to do a separate post on that soon.

Best moment this week:
Hmm, nothing amazing has really happened this week. The midwife visit helped us to feel a little more ready. And I took a lovely picture of James & Bradley having bump cuddles this week, very cute!!

Worst moment this week:
Feeling tired and fed up. :(

Food cravings:
Cold drinks, cold ice poles. I can't seem to quench my thirst at all.

Anything making you queasy or sick:

No.

Belly Button in or out?

Out!

Mood:

I've been feeling quite hormonal and emotional this week. I've burst into tears a few times, randomly. I wake up feeling hormonal and tired!

Looking forward to:

His arrival!!!

Can't believe I'm now 38 weeks - 2 weeks till my due date. But he may arrive any time now...
