October/November Favourites & Update

Life has been pretty hectic lately, so blogging has taken a back seat. Unfortunately! I really have missed it so have vowed to try and get at least 1, maybe 2 posts out a week.
Well, my days are really busy now, looking after a new baby, the rest of the family, running the house, working from home and we're also moving into our new house very soon so we've been busy making plans with that. There's a lot of work needs doing first, so it'll still be a while until we properly move in. I may even do some 'home improvement' posts so you can see the changes as they happen, if its something you guys are interested in.
It's safe to say, I'm loving life right now!! Happy Days!!

So, my favourites...

FAVOURITE:

Skincare Product of the Month...
I've been using Aromawakening's Lift & Tone Facial Serum (£18.00*) quite a lot lately and really liking how it's made my skin feel. It is full of essential oils known for it's anti-ageing benefits and lots of vitamins the skin craves. It absorbs really quickly and is not at all greasy or oily. Big thumbs up!

Haircare Product of the Month...
My Batiste Dry Shampoo (£2.99/Boots) has been a godsend this month. Keeping my hair looking fresh when I don't have time to wash it [which is happening a lot with a young baby!! Dont judge me!! ;)] and for giving my hair some extra volume when I do get time to wash it! :)

MakeUp Product of the Month...
When I stumbled upon Rimmel's Scandal Eyes Jumbo Eyeliner (£5.49/Boots), I was made up! I'd been looking for a dupe for Be A Bombshell's eyeliner for such a long time, so when I spotted this chunky little beauty, I was very happy!!

Bath/Body Product of the Month...
It's been a while since I had a nice, long, relaxing bath. My baths lately are a quick 10 minute [if that!] dip before Taylor wakes up!! But my The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Shower Gel (£4.00) has been a favourite this month, especially if I don't get time to moisturise afterwards, as it's super moisturising on the skin.

Fragrance of the Month...
I've been wearing my Chanel 'Chance Perfume (£49.05/Boots) a lot, it's just a lush fragrance!!

Item of Clothing of the Month...
I love my Knitted Cape (£15.00/Boohoo) it keeps me snug and in 'layering' season, it's perfect!

Home Product of the Month...
Now, nobody likes doing the washing up, lets be honest. But it's made more bearable when the washing up liquid smells of oranges!! I'm a huge fruity fan, which you probably know if you've read my blog posts before, so The Co-operative's Orange Washing Up Liquid is lovely!!

Baby Product of the Month...
As Taylor is getting more alert now and needing to be stimulated more, we purchased him the Fisher Price Kick & Play Piano Gym (£49.99/Toys R Us) which he loves. He grabs away at his toys and talks to himself in the mirror, it keeps him amused for a while and I love the fact that when he gets bigger, the piano changes position so he can sit and play it.

Read of the Month...
Bradley & I were sent 'The Parent Agency' by David Baddiel* to review and we're really enjoying it. About a boy who wishes for better parents, and finds himself in another world testing out potential parents. Watch out for a full review once we've finished.

Music of the Month...
Don't judge me but I'm a little bit in love with One Direction's 'Steal My Girl' at the moment! ;)

TV of the Month...
How gripping is 'The Missing'??? It's such an awful story line, a parents worst nightmare to have their child abducted. But the series is fantastic viewing!!

Film of the Month...
I'm not sure I've had the time to sit and watch a film in full in a while!!! :)

#StyleBaby Link Up

Welcome to the #StyleBaby blog link up.

Link up your baby fashion posts - OOTD's, wish lists, recent hauls, reviews, fave outfit posts, anything relating to kids fashion.

I have decided to make the blog link up fortnightly, going forward.

Please remember to comment on other posts, add the blog button or a text link to your post and spread the word about the blog hop - the more people that know about the link up, the more traffic your posts will get! ;)

THE RULES ARE SIMPLE:

  •  Link up a blog post, based around kids fashion. It can be a simple picture of them in a favourite outfit, an OOTD post, a clothes wishlist, a clothing review, a haul of recent bits you've spoilt your little one with or any other post featuring clothing, as long as it includes where you can get the items of clothing from.

  • It doesnt have to be 'baby clothes' featured, any age is fine... they'll always be our babies right? :)

  • Be fair, the point of a link-up  is to visit other blogs. So please visit at least 2 other posts if possible. Extra points for visiting the HOST's. ;)

  • To make the link-up successful, we need to spread the word, so please use the hashtag #StyleBaby when posting your link on Twitter, so others can find your post. I'll RT random posts too.

  • Individual blog posts only please. Although you may link up as many posts as you wish, as long as they are recent posts and fit in with the theme.

  • Make sure you add the blog button or a text link to your posts to show you've linked up.

That's it... Get linking!!
I can't wait to see what gorgeous outfits your little ones have been wearing this fortnight!!

If you link up your post, please add the button below or a text link back to the link up.

Parenting | Taylor's 2 Month Update

Catch up on my Pregnancy Journey, including my TTC story, pregnancy updates & birth announcement HERE.

Taylor James' 2 month Update

General...
Taylor is still doing well. He can be a bit of a grumpy baby sometimes but otherwise fine. He's getting so big, my little chunk! And I can see the developmental changes happening before my eyes. He's just amazing! He suffered with colic for a few weeks, but we cracked it early on with a formula change and those amazing Dr Brown's Bottles. He has a few minutes tummy time each day but gets grumpy after a while, his head control is getting really good though. He also spends a few minutes in his Bumbo seat too.

Height/Weight...
He weighed 12lb 13oz at 6 weeks, he's now 11 weeks and put on lots since then so no idea what he weighs now! :) I may make an appointment to go get his weighed this week.

Sizes...
He's in 3-6 clothes now my little chunk! Everyone pretty much bought us 3-6 clothes so its so nice seeing all the lovely bits on him. We've 3 huge boxes of 3-6 clothes to get through!

Feeding...
He's fully formula fed now, having 6-7oz every 3-4 hours. We started on SMA Gold, but it made him really constipated so we changed him over to Aptamil Comfort which helped loads with his colic and constipation. We've recently gone to Aptamil Number 1 and luckily his colic or constipation didn't return. So we're comfortable on that one now.

Sleeping...
At night time he only usually wakes once for a feed and goes straight back off. Some nights he sleeps through till about 6am which is lovely! :)
During the day he'll cap nap, or sleep longer if in the car or pushchair, he'll wake up as soon as we stop though!!
He does have to be rocked off though, as he won't just fall asleep by himself. And he has to be totally fast asleep before I can put him down, if not, as soon as I lay him down in bed he'll wake up and cry! :) He even knows when I sit down with him if he isn't properly asleep yet! Little monkey!

Bedtime Routine...
Between 6-7pm he starts to get a little grumpy so he has a bath. He's in his little Summer Bath Seat in the big bath now, which is so much easier to bath him. I alternate between Johnson's Baby Bath products and he has he hair washed once a week. He loves it in the bath, he can be screaming before but once in the warm water he's nice and calm. It's usually James' thing, to bath him, (unless he's working late) then I'll take him into the bedroom to get him dry, in his sleep suit then give him his last feed and he usually falls sleep about 7pm.

Mummy's post partum body...
I had my appointment at the hospital to check everything healed well with my stitches etc, everything was fine, they were really happy with how I healed. And I was told my pelvic floor is still spot on, which is good news after birthing a 10lb baby!! ;)
Weight however, is a different story. My bump has gone down now, but I'm carrying a lot of extra weight. I'm 11 stone, which is the heaviest Ive ever been. Never usually more than 9 stone, it's quite a difference to me. I started the Slim Fast diet, and lost 3 lbs in the first week which was great, but then I couldn't seem to lose anymore, I've been the same for 3 weeks now. I haven't done much exercising though as I just don't have the time, with looking after Taylor, plus running a house and family, AND working from home. I do need to start working on certain areas though, I bought a pair of size 10 jeans to help me lose weight, I can't currently get them past my thighs!!

Mummy's Best Bits...
I just love how alert he is now, how he grins at me when I look into the moses basket when he wakes up!

Daddy's Best Bits...
'Putting him in the big bath, I like doing bath time as it's my time on my own with him. I love the way he watches me move around the room and smiles when he sees me.'

Bradley's Best Bits...
'My best bits are: when I wake up in the morning I go into Mum's room and see Taylor, either having his nappy changed or smiling when I come in the door.'

Spending time in my Bumbo  |  Looking cute  |  Mummy caught me grasping my toy!  |  Having cuddles with Mummy

Until next month...
