November Empties & Mini Reviews

Welleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo | MAC Studio Sculpt | Primark Anti Bac Hand Gel | Sudocrem Care & Product | Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation | Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | Avon Naturals Cherry Blossom Body Whip | Dove Silk Dry Roll On Deodorant | Hask Keratin Protein Smoothing Deep Conditioner | Lacura Cotton Wool Pads | Moroccanoil Repair Conditioner

Welleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo* (£8.95 full size)
I didn't use these myself, I left them in the bathroom for the boys to use and well, there were no complaints :)
Would I Recommend? They advertise it as a great all round shampoo for all the family, but for a family shampoo I think the price is a bit steep.
Would I Repurchase? Probably not, no.

MAC Studio Sculpt (£25.00)
My favourite foundation! I tried to go budget beauty for a while to save some money, but I ended up going straight back out to repurchase this before I'd even finished the other bottle.
Would I Recommend? Yes, if you like a luxury build able, satin finish, this is a beauty!!
Would I Repurchase? Over and over...

Primark Anti Bac Hand Gel (£1.00)
This stuff was sat in my lounge at easy reach when I first had Taylor. I was constantly breast feeding and pumping and changing nappies, and rather than keep getting up to wash my hands, having this by my side was super helpful!
Would I Recommend? Hand gel is something that always comes in handy, and they're a great price at Primark so yes, pick one up next time you're at a Primark counter.
Would I Repurchase? I often pick one up when I need one, yes.

Sudocrem Care & Protect* (£2.99/Boots)
I was using this on Taylor as he was quite sore in one of his creases, it didn't help clear it up though unfortunately, but it claims to protect against nappy rash rather than clear it up. After it cleared up using something else, I did begin to use it again after bath times but the redness started to come back. As a fan of the normal Sudocrem, I was quite disappointed.
Would I Recommend? Judge for yourself but I wasn't impressed.
Would I Repurchase? No.

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation (£8.99/Boots)
I was trying to give budget beauty a go to save some money, and after searching through the budget beauty brand stands I decided to give this a go. My main issue with buying foundation off the shelf is not knowing what shade to buy, and with a baby in tow I don't have the time to keep testing on my jaw and going outside to check if it matches, so I guessed. And failed. It didn't match at all, it was too orange. The foundation itself was nice, but I got halfway and ended up going back to MAC!
Would I Recommend? It's a great foundation if you're used to budget brands.
Would I Repurchase? I would, if I can't get to MAC to pick up my usual foundation. But Id be sure to get the shade right this time! :)

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (£4.99/Boots)
You may've read me mention this before, it comes up a lot in my empties posts. I love it, it's a fab make up remover and cleanser. It removes all traces of make up well, and leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and comfortable.
Would I Recommend? Yes, a great price for a great micellar water!
Would I Repurchase? Yep!

Avon Naturals Cherry Blossom Body Whip
I bought this as it was in the sale book super cheap as was about to be discontinued, you can never have too many body creams in my opinion! :) It wasn't as thick as my usual body butters, but it doesn't claim to be. It sinks in nicely and smells lush!
Would I Recommend? When their body whips are on offer, grab some!
Would I Repurchase? Why not?

Dove Silk Dry Roll On Deodorant (£2.30/Boots)
It works. It keeps me fresh. It smells nice. It keeps my underarms feeling smooth. What else do you need?
Would I Recommend? Yeh!
Would I Repurchase? Most definitely.

Hask Keratin Protein Smoothing Deep Conditioner (£2.00/Primark)
If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that I'm a big fan of this. For such an inexpensive product, it is a fantastic haircare product. My hair always feels lovely, soft, smooth and smells amazing!
Would I Recommend? Yes, try it!!
Would I Repurchase? Yes yes yes!!

Lacura Cotton Wool Pads (99p for twin pack/Aldi)
Another regular on my empties posts, these cotton pads are thick, soft and perfect for make up removal.
Would I Recommend? Yes, great price, great product.
Would I Repurchase? Over and over.

Moroccanoil Repair Conditoner (£17.00/Amazon)
I picked this up in my salon [well, I actually convinced James to get it for me :)] as I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Unfortunately I still don't see what the fuss is about. It's okay, but nothing special, in my opinion.
Would I Recommend? Hmm, you can get better, cheaper!
Would I Repurchase? Nah...

  1. I feel like Studio Sculpt doesn't get as much love as it deserves. It was my first 'proper' foundation and the first foundation to make me understand why foundation is a must!

  4. This is a great post, full of great hints and tips for people. It's a shame about the Sudocrem care & protect, I've always found the original Sudocrem great. Popping over from Share with Me.
