Taylor's 3 Month Update

Catch up on my Pregnancy Journey, including my TTC story, pregnancy updates & birth announcement HERE.

Taylor James' 3 month Update

I can't believe he's 3 months old already. He's grown and changed so much.
He loves being in his jumperoo and door bouncer, he just loves to be upright. He gets bored pretty quickly, so he has to be kept amused constantly. He loves blowing bubbles and 'talking' away to us. He can be a bit of a grumpy baby, but he's just adorable when he's smiley and happy. He's really alert, grabbing at everything and trying to eat it! He's struggling with teething already bless him, dribbling constantly, bright red cheeks and quite fussy, but Ashton's & Parsons Powder is a godsend!

Height/Weight...
I haven't had him weighed in a while so I'm not sure. He's gaining weight well though! :)

Sizes...
He's wearing 3-6 months clothes and we're using size 3 nappies now. After using many different brands of nappies, Mamia are still favourites!!

Feeding...
He's fully formula fed now, having 6-7oz every 3-4 hours. We started on SMA Gold, but it made him really constipated so we changed him over to Aptamil Comfort which helped loads with his colic and constipation. We've recently gone to Aptamil Number 1 and luckily his colic or constipation didn't return. So we're comfortable on that one now.

Sleeping...
At night time he only usually wakes once for a feed and goes straight back off. Some nights he sleeps through till about 6am which is lovely! :)
During the day he'll cap nap, or sleep longer if in the car or pushchair, he'll wake up as soon as we stop though!!
He does have to be rocked off, as he won't just fall asleep by himself. And he has to be totally fast asleep before I can put him down, if not, as soon as I lay him down in bed he'll wake up and cry! :) He even knows when I sit down with him if he isn't properly asleep yet! Little monkey! It's not often I get to put him down during the day though, as soon as I put him down he seems to wake up!!

Bedtime Routine...
We start his bedtime routine at 6 when he has a bath. He's in his little Summer Bath Seat in the big bath now, which is so much easier to bath him. I alternate between Johnson's Baby Bath products and he has he hair washed once a week. He loves it in the bath, he can be screaming before but once in the warm water he's nice and calm. It's usually James' thing, to bath him, [unless he's working late] then I'll take him into the bedroom to get him dry, in his sleep suit then give him his last feed and he's usually fast asleep by 7. He's now in his cot. It was quite strange for me at first, as him being in his moses basket next to me was easy to be able to pop my hand in to him, having him on the other side of the room was hard for me at first!

Mummy's post partum body...
I had my appointment at the hospital to check everything healed well with my stitches etc, everything was fine, they were really happy with how I healed. And I was told my pelvic floor is still spot on, which is good news after birthing a 10lb baby!! ;)
Weight however, is a different story. My bump has gone down now, but I'm carrying a lot of extra weight. I'm 11 stone, which is the heaviest Ive ever been. Never usually more than 9 stone, it's quite a difference to me. I started the Slim Fast diet, and lost 3 lbs in the first week which was great, but then I couldn't seem to lose anymore, I've been the same for 3 weeks now. I haven't done much exercising though as I just don't have the time, with looking after Taylor, plus running a house and family, AND working from home. I do need to start working on certain areas though, I bought a pair of size 10 jeans to help me lose weight, I can't currently get them past my thighs!!

Mummy's Best Bits...
I just love how alert he is now, how he grins at me when I look into the moses basket when he wakes up!

Daddy's Best Bits...
'Putting him in the big bath, I like doing bath time as it's my time on my own with him. I love the way he watches me move around the room and smiles when he sees me.'

Bradley's Best Bits...
'My best bits are: when I wake up in the morning I go into Mum's room and see Taylor, either having his nappy changed or smiling when I come in the door.'

Until next month...
