Taylor’s 4 Month Update

Taylor James’ 4 month Update

Four months. Wow. It’s flying by.
Taylor turned 4 months old on Christmas Eve.
He’s changing so much now. His new thing is screaming, for fun. He most definitely has some lungs on him!! He’s still a right little grumpy bum and spends the majority of the day having a good whinge!! 🙂
Santa spoilt him lots for Christmas, luckily, as he’s a nightmare to keep amused!!

Height/Weight…
I still haven’t been to get him weighed and measured. Maybe I should take him monthly, I’ll make an appointment. He’s thriving well though I can assure you!! 🙂

Sizes…
We’re still in 3-6 months although I’ve been thinking about introducing some of his 6-9 bits into the laundry as it’s not going to be long before he grows out of a lot of his 3-6. Already??? 🙂

Feeding…
He has a nice little routine with feeds now, he takes 7oz every 3 ish hours, usually around the same time everyday.
I have decided to do baby led weaning with him at 6 months, which I’m really excited about and doing lots of research. I traditionally spoon fed Bradley and he became super fussy once finger foods were introduced. And at 10, he still is the fussiest child ever!! So I’ve decided to go with BLW this time around. If you have any experience, I’d love you to share!!

Sleeping…
He has a pretty good routine and falls straight to sleep in the evening and sleeps right through till about 4.30 ish for a feed, usually. And wakes about 7 am. He’s still in our room until we move though, and he’s often woke up as Daddy is just too noisy and unsettles him, which is a pain! We’re only in a 2 bedroom at the moment though so we have no other choice until we move.
Good news though, he’s finally sleeping on his own for daytime naps!! Yay!! He spent 4 months refusing to sleep anywhere except in my arms during the day, which although to begin with was lovely, I was getting nothing done and just having no time to myself! Even putting him in bed once fast asleep, he’d wake up straight away!! But we bought an elephant Summer Infant Slumber Buddy which shines coloured stars on the ceiling, and a Tomy Starlight Dreamshow Nightlight projector which helped amazingly with calming him in bed and helps him fall asleep, leaving my arms free to get some housework done!! 🙂

Bedtime Routine…
He still loves his bath time, we bath him at 6, then take him into the bedroom to get him dry, dressed and we have a big cuddle while he has his last feed, then he’s straight in his cot and usually fast asleep by 6.30. The change from his Moses Basket to his cot went really well, I worried that he’d miss the cosiness of his Moses but there was no change.
Unfortunately, Johnson’s Baby Bath products started to make his skin really dry, which is what they did to Bradley too, so we’ve switched to Humphrey’s Corner Bath products.

Mummy’s post partum body…
I put on all the weight I lost over Christmas, gutted! But I’ve started a Slimming Club for motivation and I lost 3 lbs last week so hopefully I can keep that up. I’m not on any plan, just eating better, sticking to my calorie allowance, squeezing in the 7 minute workout when I can, and doing the 30 Day Squat Challenge & 30 Day abs Challenge.

Mummy’s Best Bits…
His first Christmas was just lovely, we helped him put the star on top of the tree, he helped Bradley open their Christmas Eve box and he wore such little Christmassy outfits. Such a special time!

Until next month…
